The stitch heard round the world



Tomorrow, I continue my career in planning/branding and I'm psyched. Here is a little background about the company history (from www.merrow.com; new website due next week :)

"In 1838, Joseph M. Merrow and son founded one of the first knitting mills in America. Here, the Merrow Company developed knitting machines which automated the process for seaming and edge finishing a variety of knit garments including blouses, hosiery, underwear, sweaters and gloves."

Our goal is to take the Merrow brand, and make the stitches and seams a brand in themselves. Not just the sewing machines, the actual stitch they make.

It's like this:
When you buy clothes, linens, socks, basically anything stitched/sewn, you buy them for many reasons: who makes the garments (brand), price, cut, fabric, color, etc.

What we are going to do is make the Merrow Stitch a selling point for textiles and clothing. It's never been done before, branding a stitch as a selling point for clothes, but we're going to change the world.
